During this class you will learn how to provide effective CPR, how to use an AED and choking rescue for adults, children, and infants. You will also learn the 5 links in the adult Chain of Survival:

A strong Chain of Survival can improve chances of survival and recovery for victims of heart attack, stroke and other emergencies.

The cost is $45 for each participant and you will receive an American Heart Association CPR Certification valid for two years.

CPR For the Professional Rescuer

This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. This course will be held on Thursday March 14th, 2013. The cost is $45 for each participant and you will receive an American Heart Association CPR Certification valid for two years.

Can private group CPR/AED training sessions be arranged?
Yes, private group training is available. SVAC has provided CPR classes, for families, civic groups and businesses. If you are interested in setting up a private group training class, please email cpr@scarsdalevac.com.
What is the minimum age for taking the CPR/AED course offered by SVAC?
While there is no official minimum age we recommend that participants be at least 12 years old.
Do I need any medical training before I take the CPR/AED course offered by SVAC?
SVAC courses are designed for anyone with limited or no medical training. They are also for individuals who need a course completion card for job, regulatory or other requirements.
Will I receive a course completion certification?
Yes, after successfully completing the course you will receive an American Heart Certification valid for two years.
Will I have to do "Mouth to Mouth" resuscitation as a part of the class?
Rescue breathing is taught during the class but you will not have to perform "Mouth to Mouth" resuscitation.
Do I have to be a Scarsdale resident to take the CPR class?
The CPR class is open to everyone regardless of where you reside.
